Over the past several years, Kim has traveled to Heavenbound Farm LLC, owned by Janet Youse, to conduct several weekend long clinics to Janet and her students.  Located in Endless Mountains, Pennsylvania, Heavenbound Farm is a 72 acre training and boarding facility which offers instruction in dressage and eventing.   Janets clients are a mix of AA and juniors riders, having sent several youth teams to compete successfully at Lendon’s Youth Dressage Festival for approximately 15 years. In addition to having Kim as a regular clinician, Heavenbound Farm also hosts 2-4 schooling shows each year.

Janet Youse, who owns and operates Heavenbound Farm in partnership with her husband, received her BHSAI through the British Horse Society and Fulmer International, England where she rode with William Micklem and Robert Hall.   She also obtained her USDF silver medal and also my USDF Instructors certification through 4th level, and previously evented through the Preliminary level.   Janet has trained under Kathy Connelly, Michael Poulin, Gunnar Ostergarrd and Scott Hassler before beginning to ride with Kim.

We recently caught up with Janet to listen to her reflections on her experiences training and participating in these 2 day clinics with Kim.
“Kim is professional, accommodating and the material she covers is useful for all levels. For me as an FEI rider she keeps it real and makes very constructive and helpful corrections. I am “older” and do not want my instruction candy-coated. I really want to improve, and Kim is helping me do just that.

“For my students of all levels she has helped them right where they are. Many receive instruction on basic skills and how this can better their horses. Her exercises are helpful in improving the horses balance and Kim makes the material easy to understand so riders are able to incorporate it into their riding programs.”

After one of Kim’s previous clinics, Janet had emergency abdominal surgery, and sent her horse Bravo to train with Kim at Upper Creek Farm while she recovered.

“Kim did a wonderful job dealing with my very sensitive Oldenburg. She improved his uphill balance and straightness and followed the training by helping me feel where the horse needed to be improved and correct his balance. Kim is a wonderful instructor, true to the correct basics and always has the horse’s best interest in mind. I am enjoying learning from her and look forward to many more hours of instruction and training.”

We’re so thankful to Janet for this feedback on her recent experiences training and holding clinics with Kim at her facility.  Kim does have a busy competition schedule, but is available on a traveling basis to come and teach clinics at private facilities on the following dates this year:
